Ask The Chef
Today's question was actually a comment on the dinner for today by Molly. Molly asks...
"Hi,
Just wondered what type of Thai peanut sauce you might recommend. We don't like really hot sauce in our house, what kind of jarred sauce do you recommend?
Thanks, love the recipes!
Molly"
Hi Molly...actually if you go to your local market, there should be a variety of peanut sauces that you can use on the "ethnic foods isle".
Some may say "hot" or "mild" but my suggestion would be to look on the ingredients list and make sure there is no kind of pepper or chili in the sauce to make sure its not spicy!
If you cant find one like this, you can make your own peanut sauce!
I searched the Internet for a recipe, and this one sounded great!
Thai Peanut Sauce:
1/3 cup peanut butter, crunchy or smooth
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoons lime juice
1 clove garlic, minced
2 teaspoons grated ginger
Mix all these ingredients together and use it for your sauce.
Good luck, and thank you for your question!
