As the Chef: What do YOU eat?

I think this is the most Fun Ask the Chef question I have received!
Shannon emailed me with the following question:

"Hey Gourmet Momma! I just love your blog, and I am so excited that I found it. Dinner is no longer a hassle at my house! However, one thing that I find hard is trying to plan out a week's worth of meals, while trying to be creative (not just chicken, beef, chicken, beef). So I'm curious, what is on your menu for your family at home this week?
Shannon"

Well Shannon, I LOVE your question, and I am so glad you found our blog! You know, even having a Culinary Degree, and being "The Gourmet Momma" doesn't keep me from having a hard time being creative too! Sometimes I just don't want to take the time to do anything special, or Im not feeling inspired! (We call those pizza, or chinese takeout nights! lol)
But I would be more than happy to share with you my families Menu from this week, some of the meals even have a funny story to them! Enjoy.....
Sunday: Spaghetti and Meatballs (I got the recipe from "Throwdown with Bobby Flay", the challenger won, and this was his recipe....VERY good!) With my homemade sauce, and garlic bread. (I know, two starches, SHAME on me! lol)

Monday: BBQ chicken Baked Potatoes (we made the potatoes in the microwave, and I put the chicken along with BBQ sauce and water in the crockpot for a few hours until it was pull apart tender) topped it off with cheddar cheese! YUM! Oh, not to mention the corn on the cob! mmmmmmmmmm.................tasty!

Tuesday: Meatloaf (another "Throwdown with Bobby Flay" recipe, can you tell I like this show? I could sit around watching food network all day!!!) I also made home made mashed potatoes, and green beans!

Wednesday: Tonight, we are having Chicken Tortilla Soup, I can't wait! Im sure you will be seeing this recipe on Gourmet Momma soon!

Thursday: Tomorrow we will be having Pork Cutlet Steaks, baked with a cracker crumb coating (ala chicken fried steak style) and lots of veggies and a huge salad!

Friday: We will be having......I dont know! lol I haven't thought this far ahead! I would like to have panzanella salad, or split pea soup. We shall see! ;)

So there you have it, a glimpse into The Gourmet Momma's menu for the week! I just might keep this up and post these more often, its fun! ;)
Thank you Shannon for your question!

Sounds like a good week's worth of meals at your house, LOL!

Can you post the bbq chicken recipe from the crock pot? I have a husband that loves chicken so any ideas for chicken will be good.

The Tortilla soup also sounds good and you can't go wrong with Spaghetti, right?

Hey Molly,
its not really a recipe, I just put two chicken breasts in the crockpot with half a bottle of BBQ sauce, and about 2 cups of water, covered it and set to "high" all day. I put it in around 10:00am and we ate like at 7:00pm.
:)
